Our Story
Hi! My name is Dustin Christal, passionate pastured poultry farmer, engineer, promoted to father of two adorable little girls, and of course – my most important role: husband to my beautiful wife, Holly. Imported all the way from New Zealand, Holly’s my biggest fan in this whole endeavor.
Our journey began when we were still dating. Holly often spoke about her desire to raise as much of her food as possible. Like many of you, she was concerned about the damage much conventional farming does to the land, the animals, and our own bodies. Pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, and synthetic fertilizers destroy land, contaminate water, cause long term issues in animals and create devastating health issues for humans.
All for short term gain.
While our little farm can’t fix these worldwide issues, we share your desire to raise healthy children, enjoy healthy grandchildren and see good health well into the latter years.
We didn’t believe that healthy had to be so hard.
All this farm talk with Holly re-awoke my own teenage dream of owning a farm and providing nutritious, healthy food not only for my family but also for the surrounding communities. I shared my dream with Holly, and she fully embraced the idea.
With our dreams aligning we began learning all we could about sustainable farming: farming that would take care of us, our animals and the precious land that supports us all. About two years later, when we were in a position to obtain some land we began Christal Fields farm.
Now we are your local pastured poultry farmers, with plans for raw milk and pastured lamb in the future! I am so honored to be able to serve you the delicious, nutritious pastured meats we serve our own children.
With a 4 year old, a 3 year old and a third under 1, we understand the challenges of finding food you can trust to feed your vulnerable little ones. We understand your struggle to provide nourishing food that will promote health in your family well into the future.
