Healthy Hot Chocolate, Broth-Chocolate
You probably find it difficult to get your kids to drink hot broth. Shoot, even you may find it hard to drink it straight. If only there was an easy way to get your kids to drink this wonderful health tonic. Do we have a treat for you! This hot "Broth-Chocolate" recipe is a hit with my kids, and I rest easy knowing they are getting immune bosting benefits of bone broth. Enjoy this satiating drink to stay thawed out this winter around a cosey fire. You've never had something like this. :)
  • Prep Time:
  • Servings: 4 mugs

Ingredients

  • (3 Cups) Plain Homemade Chicken Broth
  • Or 2 Cups Broth and 1 Cup Water
  • (1 Cup (approx.)) Heavy Cream
  • (6 tsp) Sugar
  • (4 tsp) Cocoa Powder

Directions

The plain homemade chicken broth needed can be made by clicking here and following this recipe.

It's simple and make enough broth for MANY healthy hot chocolates. Well worth your time. :)

  1. Heat broth and the sugar in a medium pot on medium-high heat.
  2. Place 1 teaspoon of cocoa power and 1/4 cup of cream into each mug. Stir rapidly until well mixed and frothy.
  3. Once the broth is nice and hot, but not boiling, stir well to make sure sugar is dissolved, then pour broth evenly into each mug.
  4. Stir each mug and serve.

Add more sugar or less if desired.

Note: if the broth is a little strong for your liking, add extra hot water into your mug to reduce its strength in the drink.

The family approves!
